The Tolly Group - Company Background

The company was founded by Kevin Tolly in 1989 to provide hands-on evaluation and certification of Information Technology products and services.

The Tolly Group enjoys a unique position in the information technology sector. As the premier independent test lab and provider of third-party validation services, Tolly has worked with virtually every major vendor and evaluated the most important products and technologies to appear over the past decade. And in many cases, The Tolly Group has tested these solutions not once but many times, tracking products as they evolve and markets as they mature.

The Tolly Group is positioned to certify vendor solutions and thereby provide evidence that their products meet or exceed marketing claims. This proof-of-performance and/or features/functions lets customers know they can buy with confidence. Furthermore, custom testing enables vendors to verify a specific feature or function or commission a comprehensive evaluation. Either way, clients receive the assurance they need to aggressively market products without worrying about problems that otherwise may stall rollouts and tarnish reputations.

Leaders in Cloud and Virtualization Benchmarking

As Server/Client Virtualization, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service become viable and popular options, Tolly has been the leading provider of benchmarking services to quantify the functionality and performance of hosted and on-premise solutions from a range of prominent vendors including: Amazon, AVG, Dimension Data, Kaspersky, IBM, McAfee, Rackspace, Symantec, Trend Micro.

This working knowledge of products and technologies puts The Tolly Group in a class by itself. Its strategic recommendations are always based on first-hand experience, rather than abstract trend analysis or simple customer surveys. That explains why leading vendors and startups alike rely on The Tolly Group for product strategies, custom testing, and independent certification. Clients include Avaya, Brocade, Citrix Systems, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Alcatel-Lucent, Linksys, Dell, VMware, Symantec, Trend Micro and HP. Our client list is a veritable Who's Who among information technology suppliers. As noted, The Tolly Group prides itself on working with IT start-ups as well. Many companies that are now household names first came to prominence by proving their claims through Tolly testing.

Fortune 1,000 companies and government agencies worldwide look to The Tolly Group for a wide range of services, including proof-of-concept testing and network planning.
