Abstract

Nortel commissioned The Tolly Group to benchmark the performance of the company’s Nortel Application Accelerator (NAA) 510 to determine its effectiveness in terms of response-time improvements delivered to users and to quantify the bandwidth efficiencies due to compression and caching.

The focus of this evaluation was to measure application performance. Engineers measured the NAA 510 performance when supporting data transferred between a client and back-end servers running either Microsoft SharePoint, Internet Information Server (IIS) or Microsoft Outlook Web Access. Tests were conducted in May 2007.
