Abstract

Software media processing deployed on standard computer server hardware is an effective alternative to specialized DSP-based hardware typically found in service provider networks supporting value-added services (VAS) applications. Dialogic’s PowerMedia Extended Media Server is a next-generation software media server product that meets the performance requirements necessary to support value-added services such as Interactive Voice Response (IVR), messaging and conferencing for service provider applications.

The performance test results published in this report confirm PowerMedia meets or exceeds criteria in areas of media server density, host CPU and memory utilization, call processing, media latency and voice quality as defined by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for media latency and the PESQ algorithm for voice quality.
