Abstract

Huawei ME60 series multiservice control gateway (MSCG) is a high-end network product developed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. which supports subscriber management, PPPoE/DHCP/dedicated line user authentication and NAT. It is designed to be deployed as a service point of presence (SPOP) of an IP/MPLS network, BRAS node or broadband service access, or core node of campus networks.

Huawei commissioned Tolly to evaluate their ME60 MSCG’s performance, high availability, table capacity, carrier grade NAT (CGN) support for IPv4 and IPv6 networks, Hierarchical QoS(HQoS),etc.

Tolly engineers verified that the ME60 MSCG supported 12M IPv4 routing table entries, 10M IPv6 routing table entries, 4M FIBv4 and 2M FIBv6 table
entries. Tests related to high availability features included hot-standby
chassises for NAT (CGN) and hot-swappable MPU and SFU. Multiple services including NAT (CGN), NG-MVPN and HQoS, network quality monitoring technology IP FPM, as well as the Netstream network statistics monitoring feature. Engineers also verified that the 24*10GbE port line card on the ME60 series MSCG provided 100% line-rate forwarding.
