Abstract

The network edge is a demanding place with requirements varying across customers. Those requirements include high-density, high performance and low latency - with support for topologies ranging from 10GbE to 100GbE. Lenovo switches are compact rack switches that deliver speed and intelligence to the edge of your network.

Lenovo commissioned Tolly to evaluate six of its ThinkSystem and RackSwitch LAN switches in various scenarios. Tests included performance, IGMP Multicast, routing convergence/failover and Layer1/2/3 interoperability. Interoperability tests included Cisco Systems and Arista Networks switches.

The Lenovo switches tested delivered wire-speed performance and low latency, demonstrated IGMP, convergence and failover results better than or comparable to Cisco and demonstrated L1/L2/L3 interoperability with both Cisco Systems and Arista Networks switches as detailed in the body of the report.
