Abstract

WRQ, Inc. commissioned The Tolly Group to benchmark the performance of its Web-to-host product, Reflection for the Web and compare the results to IBM Corp.’s SecureWay Host On-Demand product. Tests included delivery duration over a 10 Mbit/s Ethernet LAN, a 56 Kbit/s WAN connection and a 28.8 Kbit/s dial-up WAN connection. The tests measured the applet download time for the first connection; the time it takes to establish subsequent connections; and the time that elapses before the end-user is aware of download activity on the screen during the first connection.
