Integrated Site Edge Router Performance and Feature Eval.

Abstract

Ericsson commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate its Integrated Site Edge Router (ISER), an edge router supporting ISIS/RIP/OSPF/BGP routing protocols, virtual routing and forwarding, VRRP, IPSec VPNs, QoS and Layer 3 tunneling. The Tolly Group conducted extensive performance tests on the ISER, as well as a variety of feature verification and interoperability validation with a Cisco Systems, Inc. 7505 Router, a Juniper Networks M20 Internet Router and Juniper NetScreen-SA 100 firewall.

Tolly Group engineers conducted a battery of performance tests, focusing on BGP/OSPF performance, and IPSec tunneling performance, as well as verification of such key features as resiliency, interoperability, Quality of Service (QoS), IPSec VPNs and virtual routing. Testing was conducted at Ericsson facilities in Raleigh, NC during August 2005. The Tolly Group awarded Ericsson its Up to Spec certification for the performance validation and features verified by Tolly Group engineers.
