Abstract
Steelbox Networks, Inc. commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the Digital Matrix Storage Switch (DMSS) 3000; a video streaming switch/controller equipped with Gigabit Ethernet ports that switches between incoming video streams from remote cameras, and either back-end storage devices or security monitors where the audio/video is displayed in real-time or in playback mode.
Tolly Group engineers examined the performance of the DMSS 3000, specifically the input and output of video streams and its ability to record Network-Attached Storage (NAS) systems. Tests focused on scalability, support of codecs/transports, and storage load balancing. Tests were conducted in March 2007.
