Abstract
Netgear Inc. commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the interoperability of GSM7224R
and GSM7352S switches for small-tomedium- business (SMB)-class networks — in terms of key interoperability features used in converged networks.
Tolly Group engineers put the GSM7224R and GSM7352S switches through their paces in a network-edge-to-core connectivity test scenario with a Cisco Catalyst 6509 switch. The tests illustrated the NETGEAR switches acting as aggregation or edge switches interoperating with a representative Cisco switch commonly found anchoring the core of business networks.
The Tolly Group examined interoperability features with the Cisco Catalyst 6509 using several Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 features like 10/100/1000 BASE-T Auto-Negotiation, Spanning Tree and link aggregation protocols, IP Static Routing, etc.
Tests were conducted in August 2008.
