Abstract

The WAN router is the essential building block of a business network. Multiple WAN and Gigabit LAN ports provide both the connection to the Internet as well as between internal devices. High-performance, low-latency LAN switching ensures the best conditions for internal communication and a high- performance firewall ensures that interaction with the outside world will be optimal.

Araknis Networks commissioned Tolly to evaluate their AN-300-series Gigabit Router and compare their Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) LAN and firewall performance to comparable offerings from Cisco Systems, Luxul and Pakedge Device & Software. Tests show that the Araknis AN-300-RT-4L2W Gigabit Router delivers line-rate throughput of 1Gbps per port across all 4 GbE LAN ports – which is the same performance as the Cisco - and delivers better firewall performance than any of the other solutions tested.
