Abstract

Huawei NetEngine40E (NE40E) series universal service router is a high-end Networking product developed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to be deployed as core routers for Internet Data Centers (IDCs) and tiered enterprise networks, and as edge routers between campuses.

Multi-Service Edge Router (MSER) functions enable video, voice, and data traffic with unified subscriber services management and Hierarchical Quality of Service (HQoS). The NE40E router consolidates IP aggregation and MPLS functionality in a single, high-availability router.

Huawei commissioned Tolly to evaluate their NE40E series router’s performance, table capacity, high availability, virtualization capability, Carrier Grade NAT (CGN) support, Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) support, power saving feature, etc.
