Abstract
Wireless LANs (WLANs) are an essential element of virtually every business. Whether
deployed in corporate offices, retail environments, high-density venues or elsewhere,
WLAN solutions need to deliver high-performance, intelligent traffic management and be
resilient.
Samsung Electronics commissioned Tolly to evaluate the key capabilities of its latest
802.11ac WEA512i access point (AP) - which provides the best price/performance ratio to
businesses; and compares that to similar APs from Ubiquiti Networks, Ruckus Networks
and Cisco Meraki. Tests included: 5 GHz performance, quality-of-experience (QoE) when
handling voice, video and data traffic, client capacity, and roaming.
The Samsung WEA512i delivered results better than Cisco Meraki and Ruckus Networks
in every test and better than Ubiquiti Networks in all tests except
one.
